Fear or Bravery - Which Do You Choose?

“A person who lives in fear of failure and prevents their self from moving forward, creates that which s/he most fears.” ~ Claire McGee

With every choice we make, we take action to satisfy the decision.  If we choose to allow fear overcome our desire to reach our goal, we remain stuck in the tormented mind of fear.  Rather than taking one step forward we remain hidden within four cement walls, which I call the “prison cell of life.”  Rather than see creation and all its glory we imprison ourselves within the convents of our mind never to know the truth of what might have been.  Fear destroys dreams and when given power, causes the strongest of minds to fall.  It is through this, we create that which we fear most.  By never taking the next step, by never really knowing what would be, we create the very thing we fear, lack of fulfillment and in our tortured mind, failure.

To overcome fear is to look it square in the eyes and rebel by doing it anyway.  We can do this by focusing on what amazing things can come of doing it.  The end result of a life of fulfillment, joy, appreciation, love, respect, and a complete self satisfaction of knowing rather than wondering, is what drives us to move forward.  Having this mindset allows us to see all experiences as knowledge and all knowledge is the grand success of learning.  To master anything in life, one must learn from failed results.  This allows one to educate themselves and others on what is to be done in order to make it work.  Some may see this as failure, others, like myself, see it as evolution and progress.

With that said, ask one question today, do you choose to let fear overcome you or do you choose bravery to see it through?  Success is from recognizing the choices and wisdom is from knowing the result.

Have a great day and remember to keep smiling that gorgeous smile of yours!

What We Do Today, Shapes Our Future Experiences

“I can feel guilty about the past, apprehensive about the future, only in the present can I act.  The ability to be in the present moment is a major component of mental wellness.” ~ Abraham Maslow

It is truly fascinating when it’s noticed there are two types of mindsets.  Those who live in the past and reflect on all which has been, good or bad, and those who live in the future hoping for or anticipating good things to come which are better than today.  I use to live in the past, often feeling sorry for myself or guilty for decisions I had made.  When I released the burden from my shoulders, I changed my focus.  If I were to be completely honest, I’d say I tend to be one who now lives in the future.  I am always seeing my life in one year’s time, five year’s time and beyond.  I am an optimistic go-getter it seems.

It is important to have a vision of a goal.  When you can see the end result as if it were a memory, you can make it happen.  At the same time, I have come to realise, everything I think, say and do today, shapes my forward motion.  The actions I perform today mirrors what my future is.  It is for this reason, I have decided now is the time to be living.  Each moment of each day shapes our experiences.  There really is only today.  At this moment right now, we are creating our memories of our past when we look back with fondness ten years from now.  With every experience  we have right now, we are creating our future.   It’s kind of like the idiom “take care of the pennies and the dollars take care of themselves.”  When we take care of today, tomorrow takes care of itself.

Today I choose to live my life in the now, knowing I am creating wonderful memories and experience yet to come.

Food for thought.  Today as you go about your day, be consciously aware of your thoughts and actions.  Know that what you are thinking, saying and doing, creates your future experiences and the wonderful memories you can recall when you are telling your grandchildren, family or friends all your amazing adventures and achievements.
